Upon our initial talks of Carl's retirement from the military service and our move back to the Texas area, LaQuita and I agreed that we wanted to finally purchase a home after year's of moving around the country and living in rental properties. However, because we were 1st time home buyers and we were currently living out of state we knew that we were going to need some help from a professional, dedicated and extremely knowledgeable real estate agent who would be willing to work with us long distance.
We started our process by signing up with the Homegain.com website and posting our profile to look for a REALTOR in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area. We received approximately 25 inquiries from different REALTOR's in response to our initial request. From the original 25 we chose 12 and started an extensive e-mail campaign with each of the Realtor's. Several of those 12 were disqualified by short, unprofessional answer's to our initial inquires. Lisa Savage stood out among those initial e-mail inquiries by her very prompt reply's and her knowledgeable, professional and educational responses to our questions. We narrowed down the list to 5 potential agents that we decided to interview personally.
We contacted each of the 5 agents to schedule a personal interview during January 2002. Again some of the agent's that we interviewed on that day were immediately disqualified by not being in the office at the appointment time or not being prepared for the interview with us. Lisa was very accommodating of our schedule after we started running behind after waiting on other agents. When we sat down to interview with Lisa, she was prepared for the interview, she had prepared information for us prior to the appointment time (We did not have to wait for her to get stuff together). Lisa's presentation of options that she could provide to us was far and above the most effective, professional and understandable information we had received that day.
Soon after our decision to use Lisa Savage as our REALTOR, we quickly realized that we had made the correct choice. No matter what question we seemed to have about the home buying process, Lisa was able to answer quickly and efficiently. She soon started to send us a daily e-mail of new home listing in the Arlington - Fort Worth area. Several times we contacted her concerning the listings that were sent. She continually advised us on the safety of particular neighborhoods, school districts, and other items that were important to us. Also, each time that we would inquire about a listing she would attempt to learn more about our likes and dislikes of each listing so that she could tailor listing's based on our preferences. It never took more than a day for an e-mail or phone call to be answered or returned and most were answered with a few hours. Lisa was extremely easy to work with and always pleasant to speak to, no matter the situation.
We continued to work with Lisa, via long distance communication until August of 2002 when our family visited Texas for a family vacation. During this time we expressed to Lisa our need to visit as many home locations as possible to get a good feel for what we wanted. Lisa blocked off an entire two days time on her calendar for us, as she knew that our time in Texas was limited. She showed us several listings in our price range that we had given her and areas of the Metroplex that we were interested in. She quickly and efficiently moved from property to property with the majority of them having the options that she had learned from previous information we had given to her. Even while we were looking at new model homes and existing homes she continued to learn our likes and dislikes and adjusted her showings based on that information. We continued to look at listings until we decided to have a home built for us. Lisa was very instrumental in helping us through the delicate process of contracting the home to be built.
After we returned to Iowa, prior to our move to Texas, Lisa followed our home construction in Texas acting as our advocate with the builders. She was very knowledgeable in questions that we had concerning mortgage information. She would go by the property while it was in the process of construction and check on the process and advise us of any problems with the construction, plus she took several pictures of the home in various stages of construction so that we could keep an album of our new home.
We still consider Lisa to be our REALTOR and will use her services as required in the future.
Lisa was very instrumental during the closing of our home to save us in excess of $1,300 due to a mistake she found by the Mortgage company.
In short, If you are looking for a REALTOR who is professional, knowledgeable, hard working, effective and will not stop until you have the home you are looking for, then you need to use Lisa Savage as your REALTOR.
